Preeti, Date of Birth: 05.09.1995, Date of joining us: 27.02.2000

A child with special needs, Preeti attends Very Special Arts School where she is learning knitting, crochet and cooking. She is an abandoned child who was never sent to school. Now she has education of class III under her belt. She is gradually developing self-esteem, however sometimes becomes unbalanced due to her short temper and adamant nature. She is receiving regular counseling to cope with her developmental delays.

Shruti, Date of Birth: 13.04.1994, Date of joining us: 17.04.2000

An abandoned child, she does not have much recollection of her family. She is a student of class V in Sanskriti School though not much inclined academically. She is very creative and good with her hands - she sews and makes decorative items with great talent. Sometimes, she is unable to concentrate on a particular task for a long time. She is being counseled for her attention deficiency.

Seema, Date of Birth: 06.09.1994, Date of joining us: 17.04.2000

Seema and her sister Arti, came to us 10 years ago from a troubled and traumatized past. Now Seema is a student of Class VI at Sanskriti School. Her favourite subject is English and she enjoys writing and reading everything from Enid Blyton to Ruskin Bond. She has a wonderful imagination and can keep the children of the home enthralled with her stories. With the onset of adolescence, she has become a bit withdrawn.

Rita, Date of Birth: 15.10.1991, Date of joining us: 12.02.2001

Orphaned, she and her sister Chanchal have been with us for the last five years. Rita has now reached class IX at CSKM School. She did not have any formal schooling prior to joining us and did take a while to catch up with her studies. She is gaining confidence but is still emotionally dependent on others. She is a little immature for her age and is undergoing counseling to help her cope with the past. An affectionate and polite girl, she loves riddles and jokes and enjoys making people laugh. She also loves to draw and paint.

Pooja, Date of Birth: 25.04.1996, Date of joining us: 25.03.2004

Pooja and her sister Simmi came to us to help nurture their interest in studies and extra curricular activities. She is now studying in Sanskriti school in class VI. A bright child, she is extremely independent and quick to make friends.

Jyoti, Date of Birth: 21.04.1989, Date of joining us: 25.03.2004

An abandoned child, her past traumas have not stopped her from desiring to reach the skies. She is a student of class X in Sanskriti School and shows a keen interest in studies. Enrolled at Ashley Lobo's dance classes, she has been a part of several concerts. She understands the importance of academics and works hard at keeping up with her class. A reserved child, she needs to work on her social integration skills.

Seema (Simi), Date of Birth: 25.12.1994, Date of joining us: 25.03.2004

Abandoned, she and her sister Pooja had no place to go and both were finally received by us for a better future. Simmi is now a student of class VII in CSKM School. She has shown a tremendous transformation since coming to us two years ago. A stubborn and defiant child, she has settled down to become extremely dependable, academically inclined and friendly. She excels at sports and has represented her school in many track and field events. She is extremely protective of her younger sister.

Christina, Date of Birth: 12.04.1992, Date of joining us: 26.03.2004

Orphaned, Christina was taken in our fold for a better future. She is a student of class V, Sanskriti School. Christina is a bright student and quite assertive, but her attention span is very short and this needs working on. Her story telling abilities ensure that she has a constant following of children listening to her! Her interests in particular are more towards playing and making art and craft projects. She is gradually gaining confidence and improving academically.

Gurmeet, Date of Birth: 31.12.1992, Date of joining us: 26.03.2004

She is a student of class VII in Sanskriti School, and is very interested in academics but finds the English medium a little difficult. However, she has been coping very well over the last year and her teachers are pleased with her progress. Her social skills enable her to get well with both young and older. She is also working hard on her aggressive behaviour and has been undergoing counseling for the same.

Maneesha, Date of Birth: 09.04.1992, Date of joining us: 26.03.2004

An abandoned child, she has undergone a tremendous change since coming to us two years ago; from a reticent and quiet child to a bubbly young lady ever willing to help around the house. She is a student of class VII at CSKM School. Though not academically inclined, she is interested in stitching and embroidery. She is keen to become a designer.

Mala, Date of Birth: 13.09.1995, Date of joining us: 11.07.2006

Mala, abused at home and then separated from her sister at the railway station was brought to us by the Police. Now she is studying in class V at CSKM. She has become a very chirpy girl and indulges in playful teasing with other children of the home.

Chetna, Date of Birth: 13.09.1999, Date of joining us: 11.07.2006

Chetna came to us through CWC after her mother died and her father failed to come forward and take her responsibility. As she was very young and in dire need of care and protection, Udayan Care took the responsibility of providing her with good education and a better future. She has recently been admitted to CSKM in KG class.
