Who says the most effective learning happens in the classroom? Experience has shown us otherwise! Our young minds respond more eagerly to learning that is stimulating, unconventional and fun, as we discovered through various workshops and knowledge sessions that were conducted across Udayan Care chapters. The learning never stops at Udayan Care. Here are the highlights from our recent endeavours.

The Robyn Beeche Creative Award 2015

Little Friends Learn To Defend Themselves

Big Friend Isha Almadi, who recently finished her self-defense classes at the Delhi Dance Academy, conducted a basics class for all the girls of Little Friends. At the end of the session, the girls felt more assured of their safety and confident in their strength to protect themselves.

Teaching Big Friends to Be Mentors

11 new aspirants were trained under the guidance of Dr. Kiran Modi and Anirudh, Senior Programme Coordinator as Big Friends in the concepts of 'Accompaniment with Love' and 'Mentoring', so that they could bring about a positive change in the lives of Little Friends.

Presentation Skills Workshop

The Arrows Group conducted a Presentation Skills Workshop with our IT Centre's students. From improving presentation skills to interview skills and e-mail writing, the workshop taught the Narsinghpur IT Centre trainees to put their most impressive foot forward in a professional setup.

A Higher Level of Awareness For Udayan Shalinis

Our Udayan Shalinis are constantly seeking more life and lifestyle knowledge. And we gave them opportunities to learn more through workshops across our chapters in 10 cities: on sexual harassment at the workplace, another on expanding their minds through discourses on pressing global issues and topics conducted by Muskaan Trust, and an adult literacy drive across Aurangabad.

Udayan Care goes to Amazon India Fashion Week!

The second week of October ramped up for Udayan Care when fashion designers Gauri Nainika and Malini Ramani invited the youth of Udayan Ghar to their fashion show at the Amazon India Fashion Week. More than 30 Udayan After Care and alumni young adults watched the models walk the ramp with starry eyes, clapped for the designers' showcased collections and were absolutely thrilled with the opportunity to experience a fashion show.
