They started off as little younglings with flailing arms and kicking legs, but soon grew wings and took to the stars. For our young achievers, the sky is the limit as they excel at every event, activity or competition they participate in. More than their shiny accolades, it’s their pride of having achieved the impossible that shines on their faces, that makes our day brighter. Not to mention the joy of celebrating successes and special occasions!

WHEN CHILDREN DETERMINE THE NEW NATIONAL ACTION PLAN

Children from Greater Noida, Sant Nagar, Mayur Vihar and Gurgaon were invited to a two-day workshop –the New National Action Plan for Children – along with children from other NGOs. The workshop was organised last month by the India Alliance for Child Rights (IACR) at IHC to help child stakeholders think and develop key insights on the rights of children in institutional or 'non-family' settings. The workshop also helped IACR gain an in-depth understanding of what such children learn before they are 18. Our children did us proud with their observations and contributions to the plan. IACR has compiled its learnings and will send a document to the Government of India.

Haridwar’s home to the Holy Ganges that is in need of drastic cleaning measures, and on the other side of the coin, it is home to some very spirited Shalinis. In a recent initiative, the Shalinis united to clean up the river as responsible citizens with a larger duty to the environment around them. In fact, the initiative was so inspiring that it caught the attention of the Mayor of Haridwar and a handful of locals who joined the Shalinis in their work!
