We are proud to announce the release of the 5th issue of ICEB (Institutoinalised Children: Explorations and Beyond), our bi-annual international academic journal. It was released at the 2nd Biennial International Conference on Improving Standards of Care for Alternative Child and Youth Care this March.

The children had lots of fun this Holi!
The Ghaziabad girls went on an 8-day-long trip to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, organized by German volunteers Sandra, Gabriela, Vivianna, Anna and Tina, and funded by Ms. Dimple Walia, UK Volunteer. Staying at "Nature Care Village" amidst field and rivers, the children explored streams, waterfalls, temples and more. They also attended the beautiful evening arti at Triveni Ghat and visited an orphanage.
A three day training workshop from 21st - 23rd March was organized at Udayan Care Head Office on Attachment Theory, Trauma, Vulnerability and Brain Development, facilitated by Ms. Helen Lenga. Helen practices in Melbourne, Australia and has over 30 years experience working in the field of trauma as a psychotherapist, trainer, consultant and supervisor
Our Graphic & Print Design IT Centre students got hands-on at Ajanta Offset Printing Press this April! Stepping beyond the computer screen, students learned how print designs get translated into physical products...and had lots of fun! On 26th April, Gurgaon Shalinis visited the Genpact Gurgaon office where senior employees taught them life skills, finanacial planning, and interview strategies.
The Quarterly Workshop of the Delhi USF Chapter was held on 10th April. There, the Shalinis learned how to build strong self paradigms for success (taught by Delhi Core Committee) and the "3 Ps" (Patience, Perseverance, Practice) (taught by Mr. Kwatra, Ex Principal of Hans Raj College). Also, peer educators from YP Foundation conducted a session on sex education entitled "Know Your Body, Know Your Rights."
Aurangabad Shalinis enjoyed a Spiritual Talk workshop in March and a Paper Quilling workshop in April. Mrs. Anila Vijay taught the girls how to turn their negative thoughts into positive ones and Mrs. Sangeeta Bhatia showed the how to make elegant earrings for themselves and their loved ones.
Mandeep,and a couple of his friends from Gurgaon dedicated a week our Gurgaon boys, teaching a full spectrum of sessions, from meditation to team building to self defence and more
Financial Literacy sessions were conducted by Ms. Preethi Kothari at our West Vinod Nagar IT Centre to teach youth fiscal responsibility. Additionally, our Graphic Design students were feeling weak in drawing, so Charu Mishra and Monika Verma visited the students to train them in proper sketching methods and to help students prepare better designs through simply putting pen to paper before putting mouse to screen.
