 NAJMA
Najma is a girl full of potential. Hardworking and highly intelligent, she topped her class with distinction in four subjects and was awarded the “Brilliant Student Shield” for scoring 99 marks in Hindi in her 10th board exam. She dreamed of being a professor and set her sights on furthering her education. However her father, a low-paid laborer, could barely manage day-to-day expenses, let alone sending a child to college.
So she became an Udayan Shalini Fellow. She took on her dream. And began to grow.
In just her first year of the fellowship, she gained confidence. She spoke out. The thoughts were in her head, but now she took control of her voice to speak them out loud. Moreover she excelled in both academics and extracurriculars, placing 2nd in a science competition and 1st in a drawing competition, among other accolades.
We know this is only the beginning, but already she has made us so proud!
