“Heroes come in all types and sizes” –The Talmud

Udayan Care believes in the spirit of giving back and we make it mandatory that our beneficiaries inculcate this very responsibility to further help others. On the occasion of Lohri, along with 27 alumni, UC-SVP CICL team conducted a "Donation Day".

The motive behind this initiative was to build an ‘Alumni Network’ and evoke an impact that eventually led 19 students donating a valuable part of their salary towards the programme.

One of the alumni expressed, “I feel immensely elated with a sense of pride when I get to contribute a minor amount from my salary for a cause which creates an impact in someone’s life." - Simran

“Be the change you want to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi

The use of plastic chokes life! Each year tons of plastic waste is shoved into our water bodies. In order to spread awareness and acquaint the masses of easily available alternatives of plastic, our Shalinis from the North Delhi chapter of USF on February 9th, 2019, and later, on February 17th, 2019, the Gurugram chapter organized a campaign- ‘Say No to Plastic’. A huge shout out to the Genpact volunteers who added value to the campaign. Marching with the Shalinis, around 40 Genpact volunteers sung slogans, raised interesting placards and performed skit.

Putting in much research, our Shalinis identified areas and the people who could reinforce this change. Interacting with masses through slogan shouting, skits, and pamphlets, our Shalinis left no stone unturned. They even met with the chair of local markets in their areas and strictly promoted the voluntary ban on the use of plastic.

“I myself am against the use of plastic. It sinks my heart when I see abandoned plastic bags in my market. Hearing the slogans forced me to come and meet these young girls; I applaud the efforts put in. I personally will enforce the use of alternative bags, replacing the plastic bags” -Chief Executive of Model Town Market

“No water, no life. No blue, no green.” -Sylvia Earle

A shone line cleanup was organized by Ms. Shaan Lalwani and Ms. Annuja Sanghavi at Bay View Marina, Cuffe Parade. The aim of the activity was to sensitize the Shalinis from USF Mumbai Chapter about environment conservation. Shalinis participated in the event with great zeal, donning masks and gloves and cleaning the beach by picking up waste materials like plastic, abandoned clothes, footwear etc. In the end, a Marine biologist spoke to them about marine life and how small efforts by us can preserve life under water.
