Giving back – An Udayan Care Cornerstone
Girls across the chapters of Udayan Shalini Fellowship take up various causes throughout the year to spread awareness on issues ranging from menstrual hygiene to protecting the environment. Hyderabad has adopted a lake where they volunteered to clean the lake and share ideas to prevent it from further pollution. The localities engaged with them and also shared their views about the same. Whilst in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, the girls stepped out to break the silence on menstrual hygiene issues in a slum area. Personal hygiene holds the utmost importance in the overall health of women, though it remains a taboo subject. Our Shalini Sena from Batch 1 confidently cleared doubts of the women residing in the local slum area as the women participated enthusiastically in the awareness session.
