dropout came to our care in 2002 at a very vulnerable stage of her life.
At Udayan Care, she was motivated and tutored at home before making her
continue schooling. Consequently, she cleared her XIIth and enrolled for
a Hotel Management Course in Rai University. As part of an exchange programme
from Rai University, she had the opportunity to go to Quality Hotel, Leeds,
UK to complete her practical training. She came back to India, laced with an
international exposure in the Hospitality sector. Currently, she is living
independently and working with a five star hotel Now, she has made us proud
by turning into a regular donor herself. |

Case 2:

Besides embracing the orphans as our
own, we also make efforts to reunite families. One such effort
resulted in reuniting a lost child, who came to us with her
family. Despite being repatriated the
child chose to stay on with us and continue with her
studies. After completing a diploma
course in stitching and embroidery from Samuel Foundation, she
was sent back to her mother. |

Having lost her
parents, the need of survival for herself and her siblings, made
the child stop studying before
she came to us. With great persuasion and counseling, she
was able to invigorate her lost
spirit and has now passed class X exams from Open School.
She also completed one-year
diploma course in stitching and embroidery classes at Samuel
Foundation and has now joined an Export
House. Moreover, she is good at singing and dancing shows
much compassion and affection towards younger children at the
home. |

Case 1:

Having lost his parents, the need for
survival dominated his life as
the child
had to take care of his two
sisters as well. Thus, he had to stop attending school. With his
arrival at Udayan Ghar, his yearning for studies satiated as he
received an opportunity to appear for Class X from National Open
School. He was simultaneously trained as a health worker in one
of the Hospitals and is currently working at
a health center in Noida.
Now, he has shifted to a place near his
work area and is living independently. He enjoys
computers and loves to play outdoor games like cricket. |

A
very quiet 7 yr. old child, totally unlettered
came to Udayan Care after working as a child labourer. Due to
his hard work and motivation, he got admission in the
prestigious residential school, Nirmal Ashram Deepmala Pagarani
Public School, Rishikesh. At present he is a student of class X
in the same school. Besides being an above average student in
academics, he is also actively involved in sports and extra
curricular activities. Last year, he was awarded a certificate
from his school for being a disciplined child. He has
represented his school for Handball and
Basketball at various Inter-school and State level Tournaments. |

A totally distraught child came to us in
2000 with no regular schooling background. Once in Udayan Care,
she joined school and within four years completed her XII.
Thereafter, she pursued a Travel and Tourism course from South
Delhi Polytechnic while doing Graduation from Delhi University.
Currently, she is working with a renowned Travel firm Make My
Trip.com. In October 2007, she was fittingly chosen by our
donors, Home of Hope, to represent Udayan Care/Home of Hope at
an international forum organized by them in USA. She won
everyone present with her emotional speech and confidence. |

A child came to us in 1999 when she had no
one to take care of her after her parents passed away. Before
coming to Udayan Care, she had very little academic exposure.
But once with us, she was admitted to a Public School from where
she completed her XIIth. After completing school, she pursued a
course in Elementary Teachers' Training. While
continuing with her studies, she
also started working with PVR cinemas. After completing her
course she got a wonderful job with Kidstuff Promos and Events
and started staying independently.
In November 2006,
she started a new phase of life when she got married.
She still shares the same bond
with Udayan Care and visits us often
with her husband. |

A
distressed child came to us when she was fifteen years old.
Mentally regressed, due to her past trauma, she had the
behaviour of an eight year old. But with love, care and
attention from our mentor mothers and caregivers, she was able
to cope with her regression and regain composure and desire to
move ahead in life. Today, settled in Sonepat, she is happily
married and is now a proud mother. |

A deserted child who
was given to us for her long-term rehabilitation was restored to
her mother last year in the month of November. She was
studying in class VI in Dharam Public School
at the time of her
restoration. |

A 12 yr. old run away child
from Hyderabad was embraced by us in the year 2001. She was
admitted to the prestigious DPS School, Noida.
Last year, in
December she got married to a boy of her choice. This was the
third marriage that Udayan Care witnessed and there are more to
follow soon. |

She along with her sister
elder sister, came to us in 1999, when she could barely speak
Hindi, and was struggling in academics. Today doing well at
Udayan Care she is now studying in the prestigious DPS School,
Greater Noida, pursuing class XII in the Commerce stream. She is
a responsible, caring and mature child, who is ready to take
responsibility and is liked by everyone. |

The two sisters are currently
studying at the prestigious Sagar School, Rajasthan. Who would
have ever imagined these girls would get through such a
prestigious school, after having come to us virtually
unlettered. They have really gone from success to success and
have reached classes VI and V respectively. |

A child
who was a domestic help was brought to us by the family for whom
he was working in 2005. After coming to Udayan Care, he was
admitted in Universal Public School in class VI (He was one of
the lucky few to be previously attending school). He did
exceedingly well at his school and due to his brilliant academic
performance, he received an opportunity to study further in the
prestigious Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir Boarding School in
district Una, H.P. Currently, he is in class VIII and stood
first in his half yearly exams. He has been a consistent student
in academics, scoring distinction all the years in school and is
a true role model for the other Udayan children. |

Another brilliant child came
to us in 2005. Before coming to us he was studying in a
government school. Opportunity came knocking for him when he
joined the Udayan Care family. Being an above average academic
performer, he got admitted in a good public school in class III.
Once in school, he was a consistent performer in academics as
well as sports and other extra curricular activities. Recently
he got admission in the prestigious Sagar school in Rajasthan in
class V where he is performing well. |
