We believe that learning should never be boring. Neither should it be restricted to the four walls of a classroom. From gender sensitisation and life skills to health camps and skits on freedom fighters, we brought these beliefs alive in the form of enriching workshops, awareness sessions, and industry interactions for Udayan Ghar children and mentors, Udayan Shalinis, and the Big Friend Little Friend programme. The aim of these events and activities is to help each one of the young individuals under our care to blossom into well-rounded, well-informed adults who will change the future of the country they live in.

Gender Sensitisation Through Art

Flow India broke down the concepts of physical/emotional awareness and Child Identity into easy, understandable concepts for the children of Udayan Ghar using art as a medium. Needless to say, the workshop was a hit!

Team Building with Rajnish Virmani

Rajnish Virmani, Managing Partner India, Positive Momentum, our newest USF Mentor and a key initiator of our growing relationship with the Arrows Group held a session with the mentor parents and staff of the Udayan Ghar Programme on team building, respect for professional boundaries and the true meaning of mentoring.

Life Skills Workshop

Looking back on our growing years, we know that transitioning from a child into a young adult was not easy - it came with physical and emotional ups and downs. In order to help children undergoing this change, the YP Foundation collaborated with Udayan Care for a Life Skills Workshop across four Udayan Ghars for over 50 children. Subjects covered in the workshop included understanding gender, anatomy, sexuality, relationships, consent and negotiation, violence, STD/AIDS, abortion, and contraceptives.

Healthy Girls, Happy Girls

An Arabian proverb aptly summarises the goal of the recent USF Health Camp organised by the RBS Team: He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything. Supervised by highly professional doctors and USF staff members, the camp was conducted at the Gurgaon Satkrishna Charitable Hospital and included a general body check-up, dental health, and ENT checks. Apprehension gave way to smiles as the girls discussed the importance of a healthy diet, right nutrition, and adequate sleep with the doctors.

Roaring Time On Friendship Day

Big Friends and Little Friends from the Kanak Durga base celebrated Friendship Day with a delightful trip to the zoo. It may have been just a 5 kms. walk at the zoo, but it left the Little Friends with a lifetime of memories, laughter and discoveries.
