Vasant Vihar, on the 18th of November, Sulochana from
Sant Nagar Home won the first prize in 100 mtrs. Dash
while Urmila, Priyanka from Greater Noida Home

Seema, Shruti from Mehrauli Home won as a team in
Relay

Delhi Trade Fare, 2007 saw children from Greater Noida
Home enacting two stage shows that enthralled the audience.

29th November, Greater Noida Home had the proud privilege
of receiving Mrs Rajapaksa, the First Lady of Srilanka
accompanied by the High Commissioner of Srilanka along
with an entourage of 13 officials and their wives. She

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, and present MP

Care married off its daughter Ashima on the 15th of December,
2007. As she was a Muslim and the boy, a Christian, the
marriage was solemnized before the DM, Greater NOIDA

Winter
Camp organised in December brought some novel experiences
for the children as they volunteered to donate a part
of their savings to the children less previleged. A pair
of woolen socks and cap was gifted by our children to
the 300 students, studying in Government school at Tughlakpur
slums, Greater Noida

24th
November saw a function being organised to commemorate the induction
of new fellows in Delhi. Mr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Hon’ble
Minister of State for Agriculture, Consumer affairs, Food and
Public Distribution agreed to be the Chief Guest while Mr. Vijender
Gupta, Chairman, Standing Committee of MCD (Municipal Corporation
Of Delhi), and Dr. Shobha Vijender, Metropolitan Magistrate,
CWC (Child Welfare Committee) was the Guest of Honour

At West Bengal, the Fellowship programme was organized on 29th
November. The Chief Guest, Sri Gautam Dev, Hon’ble
Minister of Housing and P.H.E. Govt. of West Bengal
graced the occasion with his presence. This function was largely
supported and organixed by Ambuja Realty, the noted Industrial
Group

A total of 799 girls were provided monetary and mentoring support
(639 are with us, out of the remaining, a few became self- reliant
while some completed their education

concern against this problem”. These were the words spoken
by one of our fellows, Ms. Hema Nayal during a Social Campaign
on HIV/ AIDS. This Campaign was conducted at Mongolpuri on 25th

Construction
of vocational cum educational center at Chandrapadi Village
in District Nagapattanam, is near completion. This work is being
done with the aim to help the Tsunami victims reflourish. Our
tuition centre has a steady stream of children learning differtent
subjects as well as creative arts

CARE OUTREACH PROGRAMME: |

Regular home visits of the children of the HIV affected continued
- A story-telling
workshop highlighting attributes of wisdom and self confidence
was held with the children this December
- On 9th
December, a group discussion was held with the parents of the
children affected with HIV/ AIDS. The participants were given
a platform to express their feelings and share their initial
reactions to the disease, with each other

Udayan Care
indulges into a novel initiative of advertising the art work of
its children in the form of
T-shirts, cups, note pads etc. These articles,
alongwith products involving graphic/ jewellery designing are
displayed in the stalls put up at various fetes and carnivals,
to raise funds. One of the mentor mothers, Ms. Isabel Sahni took
the lead and has involved herself since, in consistently planning
towards progress. |
