Marjeena came to Udayan Ghar through the orders of CWC at a very tender age of 08 years with the traumatic past. The initial time had been a tough challenge for her and as well as for the Udayan Care team. Initially she was introvert, less participative, had low self esteem and poor educational back ground but she was groomed by our Udayan Ghar team. A team which consists up of mental health & social work professionals, caregivers and mentor parents. With proper love and grooming she turned out to be more social, confident and fun loving child executing high standards of performance. No one could have ever believed that the same girl one day will be an inspiration for others and would rise high breaking all the gender biased barriers in the field of sports especially, in games like football & cricket that are highly male dominant just like our patriarchal society.
Marjeena’s passion for football first sparked when she was in III standard and this spark totally turned into a raging inferno as she grew up. Today, she plays at State & National Level from her school’s under-19 football team. Marjeena has played various tournaments and has been awarded with number of trophies, certificates and medals. Being a proficient goal keeper she is considered to be savior of the team. Recently, she has played football tournaments under CBSE inter school sports and games competition, Doon cup- Dehradoon and Delhi Soccer Association. She has also been awarded for outstanding performance in football on the Founder’s Day of her school during the month of December 2016.
Apart from football, Marjeena plays cricket and has an upper hand in art & craft. She has been attending art workshops that are being organized by ArtReach India.
Marjeena is just one of our many kids who prove themselves every day. And we are so proud!
