Shalu's Story

"Behind every strong and successful woman is herself".

Today, working with IQVIA as an associate consultant in the Primary Intelligence team.

Shalu was just 10 years old when she came to Udayan Care. She had already experienced trauma and neglect. Little Shalu and her four sisters were left to themselves after their mother died soon after giving birth to Shalu and their father sank into severe depression due to the trauma. The dark clouds of trouble grew bigger when the father was diagnosed with tuberculosis due to which the sisters had to shift from one relative’s home to another for shelter and support.

When the sisters came to Udayan Care, they were living in Delhi with their uncle who was finding it hard to support them. Their delicate minds had been traumatized, affecting their mental, emotional and social well-being significantly. Shalu lacked confidence, was terrified, lacked a solid educational foundation, and cried frequently.

Day by day and year after year, the Ghar Team put their sincere efforts to nurture and transform the life of this little girl by providing care, support and services for her holistic development.

Shalu has grown into a talented and determined young lady throughout the years. Shalu had a decent exposure to numerous careers as a student at one of the town's top schools, but it wasn't until her last year of schooling that she decided to pursue a career in pharmacy.
