You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated
Vishnu experienced extreme trauma when he lost his mother at the young age of 11. Due to his father’s absence, he and his brothers were sent to a Child Care Institution (CCI). His father promised to take them back but died before he could fulfil that promise. He stayed in different CCIs carrying his wounds with a hopeful heart, a beautiful smile, and a positive attitude towards life. He focused on his studies under the guidance of his elder brothers. He joined our Aftercare Outreach Program (AOP) in October 2021 as a young person who had just turned 18 but was confused about his career pathway. He was provided professional career counselling and enrolled for his skilling as a ‘Customer Service Associate’ at the GMR Varalaxmi Foundation, Delhi.
Vishnu is today successfully placed with his first job at Indira Gandhi International Airport with a decent salary. He continues to attend the AOP Sunday workshops on work-life readiness, enhancing his confidence and communication skills, along with financial management and savings. He will be closely followed through our Aftercare Outreach Program (AOP) for his mainstreaming in society as a self-reliant aftercare youth for the next two years. He is also being coached to become a peer mentor for the younger youth in AOP.
